VISION

The University of Regina Carmeli, College of Nursing believes that graduates who experience its community of learning become caring and sensitive nursing care providers who can demonstrate excellence, wisdom and practice safely and responsively.  It likewise believes that the graduates of the Nursing Program will commit to, and demonstrate behaviors that promote health and well-being of themselves and other and will take an active role in the life long learning.




MISSION

  1. It is the mission of the University of Regina Carmeli, College of Nursing to prepare providers of nursing care who practice according to the core values of interiority, humility, courage, missionary spirit, compassion and community oriented.
  2. These providers will become productive members of the diverse health care community.
  3. They will assume the caring role in the prevention of disease, promotion and restoration of health, alleviation of suffering and rehabilitation of health.
  4. To accomplish its mission- the Nursing Program provides necessary resources and well prepared faculty.  These faculty practice community of learning, are driving forces for change, model professional behaviors, and support adult learning principles and practice.

GOALS

  1. To develop sense of awareness and responsibility of contemporary health and social issues as these effect diverse populations.
  2. To provide leadership through professional and civic activities to advocate for the improvement of health care within society.
  3. To demonstrate accountability and competency in issuing the nursing process to assist clients at various levels of health in a variety of setting.
  4. To develop appreciation of nursing theories and research to support nursing practice.
  5. To collaborate, coordinate and consult as a colleague within the interdisciplinary health team in managing client care.
  6. To instill and nurture the values of life long learning process.
