HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
The advent of computer technology in the early 80’s triggered the opening of the BS Computer Science program and opened new frontiers in the desire of the University to produce competitive and highly employable graduates. With the primary aim of producing graduates who would be aware that the scientific application of man’s invention is actually a gift from God designed for personal, professional and societal advancement.
Curricular expansion as an ongoing-long range target of the department realized in the years 1991-1992. Computer Engineering was introduced and this resulted to the entry of more students coming from different places of Bulacan and surrounding provinces.
In the year 1994-1995, the school offered a new impact program for the department. This was the BS Industrial Engineering. The new program once again attracted students thus making the department moved into two category of programs, Computer Science and Engineering.
The department ventured in new fields due to the influx of new students and transferees. Thus, BSCS-Computer technology and BS Information Technology became the new components of the computer curriculum.
With the introduction of the internet technology, the school offered the e-learning course thru the Cisco Network Academy Program, a web-based curriculum and online assessment and awarded certification course in networking. The department collaborated with De La Salle University as the Regional Academy and the university as local academy.
