BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE
The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) program is responsible to respond the nation’s thrust to become a source and developer of technology instead of just being a consumer of technology. It aims to produce IT professionals who will specialize in research, design and development of different computer and information systems. The curriculum offers subjects that deal with comprehension of mathematical and computer science concepts, analysis and design of computer systems. The BSCS graduate will have a good foundation and competence on the science on computers and information that will enable him/her to do research, design and development on various computers and IT specialty areas.
The program leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Computer Science has the following objectives:
- To equip students with excellent knowledge of computer science and Information Technology;
- To enhance students’ theoretical and practical skills needed to be globally competitive computer users;
- To provide students with a broad liberal education in the arts, social sciences and philosophy, naturally science and different areas in mathematics;
- To equip students with training that is recognized and accredited by IT companies worldwide; and
- To develop student’s cultural sensitivity, ethica responsibility, and social consciousness needed to become honest citizens of the Philippines and the world.
BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN COMPUTER ENGINEERING
To prepare the graduates for professional computer engineering careers including leading roles in the design, analysis and applications of computing structures that involves hardware, software or both. The graduates must have a strong foundation in the basic physical and engineering sciences and should consider the social,economic and financial significance of his products or the applications of his technical expertise.
Graduates of the Computer Engineering program must be prepared for planning, design, development, management and maintenance of computer system.
- Graduates of the Computer Engineering program are expected to be environmentally conscious.
- Graduates of the Computer Engineering program must be knowledgeable on intellectual property rights.
- Graduates of the Computer Engineering program must beknowledgeable on human, financial and physical resource management.
- Graduates of the Computer Engineering program must be a total engineer utilizing his knowledge of arts, science and engineering concepts.
- Graduates of the Computer Engineering program must be prepared for graduate work and research in at least one of the computer engineering fields
BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING
The Industrial Engineering program is designed to prepare students for a rapidly changing, technology-driven global economy. The level of quality requires the optimal integration of human and engineering aspects into a competitive industrial engineer integrating human capabilities with the design of suitable equipment and work environments to achieve optimal system performance. The program prepares them with working competence in Production Systems, Operations Research and Ergonomics and Product Design and is knowledgeable in the different engineering processes which enables the student to develop an understanding of the implications of technological parameters, problems, opportunities and operations to the whole set of management systems and conversely, the implication of management decisions to the technical aspect of the engineering degree.
- Must be prepared to create, build, improve and install industrial systems which are efficient, effective as well as robust. These industrial systems are not confined to a manufacturing setting but also cover service systems such as banks, hospitals, utility firms, transportation, schools and universities, government and other productive organizations;
- Is expected to perform services in the form of consultation,design, preparation of plans, specifications, estimates, implementation and supervision of:
* Work standards
* Statistical Process Control Systems
* Production Planning and Materials Control Systems
* Advance Manufacturing Systems
* Manufacturing and Service Facilities
* Operations Research Models for Production and Operations
* Information Systems;
- Is expected to be environmentally conscious
- Must be knowledgeable of his/her professional responsibilities on ethics and laws
- Must be a total engineer utilizing his/her knowledge of arts,sciences and engineering; and
- Must be prepared for graduate work and research in at least one area of the Industrial Engineering field of practice
