VISION

Guided by the Augustinian Spirituality, the College of Education envisions itself to be a provider of a locally and globally competitive teachers who are sufficiently equipped with pedagogical knowledge and skills; teachers with professional competence to generate and transfer knowledge for the enhancement of the quality of life of the people and society.




MISSION

The College of Education is committed to offer quality and relevant programs and services that are:

  1. relevant to the needs of professional, schools and community;
  2. responsive to local and international standards of quality and excellence in education and manpower development;
  3. complementary to the educational thrusts of the government and other higher educational institutions;
  4. capable of producing effective synthesizer of organized knowledge, teachers with capability to push the frontiers of knowledge for the improvement of the quality of life people and society; and
  5. accessible to deserving clients.

GOALS

  1. To develop teachers with functional understanding of the foundations of education (philosophical, psychological, sociological and humanities).
  2. To become catalyst of change and development in schools and the larger community.
  3. To practice research consciousness in dealing with educational issues and concerns.
  4. To manifest Catholic  nationalist perspective in responding to educational problems and delivering vital outreach services for the improvement of people and community.
  5. To nurture the Augustinian virtues ethical values and the understanding and appreciation of corporate social responsibility.

OBJECTIVES

After completing the program, the student should be able to:

  1. demonstrate in-depth understanding of the foundations of education (philosophical, psychological, sociological and humanities) and their implications on educational ideas and practice;
  2. demonstrate creativity in teaching by way of using appropriate strategies in presenting lessons to students;
  3. create nationalist perspectives on issues, concerns and purpose of the Filipino culture and individuality and respond to the global perspective of education and culture;
  4. acquire sharp vision to become effective citizens in their communities and to provide the interplay of personal and professional interest for the concern of the society;
  5. develop interdependence and recognition of own capabilities, talents and potentials allowing him/her to create significant impact in any organization;
  6. exercise leadership styles in varying situations by valuing the culture and nature of our environment, and
  7. manifest decision making skills in dealing with organizational situation problem.
