| URC's RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICE
VISION The Research unit of the RDO carries the responsibility of promoting
and nurturing the research culture appropriate to the University milieu.
The unit is envisioned to manage the over-all task of planning, organizing,
and implementing the activities pertinent to research and development
projects.
MISSION
The major commitment of the research unit is to assist the RDO in its
generation of scholarly and creative research and development outputs,
and in establishing linkages with government agencies, industry, and
other non-government entities.
GOALS
- Prepares the annual and long-range plans of the RDO in line with the
mission and thrust of the institution.
- Formulates policies relative
to research activities.
- Coordinates with other divisions in planning
and executing research activities.
- Develops and recommends to the
EVP appropriate organizational structure required for accomplishing
goals and objectives of
URC.
- Submits to EVP annual report of staff performance.
- Prepares and
submits to EVP plans and programs relative to research and institutional
plans.
- Directs and supervises the conduct of research and development
studies in the institution and in the larger community.
- Conducts
evaluations of institutional programs and projects.
- Proposes
new plans and programs for the development of the institution.
- Sets
with the various personnel of the RDO targeted work outputs.
- Provides
opportunities for training and development of the university personnel/staff.
